BRCEDA and VECTEC Partner To Bring Free Internet Technology Courses to Crossroads Region
In 2008, the Appalachian Regional Commission awarded a $30,000 grant to the Blue Ridge Crossroads Economic Development Authority (BRCEDA) for technology training and awareness programs in the twin counties of Carroll and Grayson and the City of Galax.
According to BRCEDA Board Chairman Mike Maynard, this training is vital for ensuring area businesses can take advantage of the unique opportunities that e-commerce provides including job creation and market expansion.
The BRCEDA has selected the Virginia Electronic Commerce and Technology Center (VECTEC) to deliver 36 free electronic technology courses over the next 18 months with the first courses slated for the Fall of 2008.
For more information about upcoming technology courses, please contact Mandy Archer or Sarah Deaton at the Crossroads Institute at 276-236-0391.
