Business Development
The Blue Ridge Crossroads Economic Development Authority (BRCEDA) serves the City of Galax, Carroll and Grayson Counties by supporting and creating entrepreneurial business opportunities.
BRCEDA also supports the region's Wired Road initiative that is using high performance fiber and wireless technologies to provide a broadband connection to every home and business in the Blue Ridge Crossroads region over the next four years.
BRCEDA is co-located and works closely with the Crossroads Institute, which offers a host of entrepreneurial economic development services through partner organizations under the guidance of a Board of Directors that represents each organization and locality.
In addition to the BRCEDA, partner organizations and resources available through the Crossroads Institute include

Helps new and small businesses develop sound business plans.
- The Southwest Regional Enterprise Center
The region's business incubator that offers business assistance and consulting
- Technology-Enhanced Educational Center
An extension of Wytheville Community College that provides technical, occupational and continuing education for workforce skills development
- Convention Center and Exhibition Hall
Virginia’s aCorridor
The Blue Ridge Crossroads region is also supported by Virginia's aCorridor which is an economic development partnership that represents and markets Southwest Virginia counties and cities including the City of Galax and Grayson and Carroll Counties. Virginia's aCorridor promotes Southwest Virginia as an ideal location for new and expanded businesses and works with local economic development programs such as BRCEDA.

If you are are interested in starting a new business or expanding your business in the Blue Ridge Crossroads region, we encourage you to contact the Crossroads Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
The Crossroads SBDC serves businesses and citizens of the City of Galax and Carroll and Grayson Counties. The SBDC provides expert assistance for creating comprehensive business plans that guide business development and growth and aid in securing necessary capital.
The Crossroads SBDC is located in the Crossroads Institute at 1117 E. Stuart Drive, Galax, VA 24333. Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by appointment. For more information or to schedule an appointment call 276–236–0391.
